Marksville, Louisiana is the home
of Paragon Casino Resort, the first land-based
casino in Louisiana. The casino is owned and
operated by the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana (http://www.tunica.org).
We found the casino clean and well-kept.
The Paragon is a large casino, by
Louisiana standards, and has plenty of video
poker. The selection of good games is
limited to DDB, Aces & Faces, and Double Aces &
Faces. However, we did find these games to
be available at all denominations from 25c through
$5 throughout the casino. The JB and Bonus
games are truly bad and should be avoided -- the
best you'll find are 8/5 JB and 7/5 Bonus, but
there is a great deal of 6/5 JB and Bonus which
should, of course, be avoided. We found no
good games at the bar.
For players who are content with
the limited selection of games, the Paragon has
plenty to offer. If you're looking for games
other than those listed, you'll find the returns
to be prohibitive.
